Can it really be over?
Is it possible that another year is over?! Not sure where to begin. Countless number of great things have happened and few sad. We lost our beloved Grams this year. She lost her battle with cancer. We will miss her greatly. Becky flew the coop. I never realized how hard that would be. But she doing well and enjoying her new adventure in life with the USAF. So, now that I have shed a tear for what we have lost, it is time to surge on into the future. I am looking forward to the New Year. We have many things on our list of things to do. I will post the news and more pics will be added. It's going to be good year. Believe it!!!

I love the Holidays
We ventured into Anchorage today. What a ride. There were cars in the ditch and I went to my Happy Place. lol Oh, winter driving makes me a nervous wreck. No pun intended. My mother-in-law is here for a visit and Kevin took us to go bead shopping. I didn't intend to get any but I did anyways. I was on the hunt for some yarn. But no luck on the yarn. The beads are amazing though. I wish I had the vision that so many have on what to do with those beautiful little discs of delight. It looks like so much fun. So, I just purchase the goodies for someone else to make for me. lol Kevin got himself some goodies at the neighboring store. It was a good day in town.
Now, I am finishing up some gifts. I have procrastinated long enough. Time to get serious. Ok, maybe not serious but at least focused. I want to go out and look at the Christmas lights one of these nights. People are as creative with their lights as they are with their beads.

Same thing, different day
It has been quite some time since I posted a new message. School started and so did chaos. Seems that everybody has their own projects and schedules and they all are at the same time. lol And of course, with school comes germs. Needless to say, we've all had our share of illnesses. But I think we have beat it - for now anyways. It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week. I lost a month somewhere. I am looking forward to the holidays this year. The smells, colors, sounds - everything. Can't wait to make candies, bake cookies and a pie or two. It's been a really good year and I am grateful for all of it.

Fall - once again
The leaves are turning and fall is in the air. I do love fall. The excitement of high school football. Big bowls of chili. The colors are fantastic all red, orange and yellow. Looking forward to having the winter season start just that it will end sooner. ha Maybe, in reality, it doesn't work that way but I would like to think so. Have many projects I am looking forward to starting. Making an afghan now that I have called "A Day at the Beach". I just love it. The varigated yarn, which is Red Heart - Seagrass, needs to arrive at my door monthly by truck load. It is so beautiful. Sam is working on a sweater. The pattern has been a challenge. It hasn't been true to the directions, so she has had to adjust it some. Becky has been beading bracelets. Pictures will be posted tomorrow of those. They are incredible.

All together again
My daughter, Becky, is home on leave. She is in the USAF. It is amazing to have all the kids in the house again. Like having Christmas in July (ok, in August). lol
Sami and I have been crazy busy with crocheting. We have gone on more than our fare share of "yarn shopping". lol Love yarn. It has been fun staying up and crocheting together. We are getting projects done, too, which is a plus.
School started and chaos has once again begun. Everybody with their own schedules. The only routine in common is bed time. I had to buy a huge calendar that covers half of the bar. It's sad that I can't remember anything anymore and need this kind of help. haha

August Already!
I can hardly believe it. Can it be possible. I was in the craft store just the other day (big surprise - lol) and there decorating the aisles was fall items. NOOO! Some Halloween. And even some, can I even bring myself to say it, Christmas. OMGosh. It was so sad. We have had such a gloomy July and here come the autumn things. Almost made me cry.
We have been cleaning these past few days. Purging our house of items not used. I have been seeing my craft supplies laying everywhere. It amazes me that it accumulates so quickly. So, I have vowed that I will use a good percent of it up this winter without purchasing new. Actually looking forward to the challenge. Also, must get back into my routine of gathering all the supplies I need for a layout or project together and place it in a box so that when I go to crops, it is all together and I don't feel overwhelmed. Have you ever have those days. You just don't know where to start? Well, let's start together - at the top. It doesn't matter what it is, let's just do it.

Still here
It is rather odd having a blog. Not quite used to it yet. I have to get pics of my latest cards on the site. It would be cool to do that. Also, I just finished my sweater. It is pretty. Needs some adjustments but that is ok. I like it. Am going to start another one. There was some beautiful yarn at Michaels that were in fall colors that I thought I would get. Haven't really created too much lately. Need to get organized and then it will feel better to get the juices going.

Heaven on Earth
I went to the Design Team crop last night. It was incredibly fun, like always. We all bring something for dinner to share. Heather brings these most unbelievably delicious yummies. She brought brownie cupcakes with peanut butter on top. OMGosh!!! These are amazing. I am hoping to get the recipe from her soon. What a wonderful treat they were. Also, Heather made a layout with this amazing paper from Heidi Swapp. The layout was just beautiful. Heather is a very talented lady. God has blessed her. It was just a trip with the other two ladies as well. They always make me laugh.

I finally got a background that I like for my blog. This has not been the easiest thing I've ever done. Most of the backgrounds had issues. But, I found this one and both Sam and I fell in love.
So, here we are. Bloggers. haha We will be adding many different things to it. Although, I do like to scrapbook, it is not my favorite thing to do. Needlepoint and crocheting are my true passion. I have just recently gotten back into making cards. Got a new book from CTMH (Close To My Heart - I will be refering to the company often) called Wishes. OMGosh, it is incredible. You should check it out. You'll like it too.
